ABOUT
Emergency Management Group – Washington [EMG-WA] is a registered and approved 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization domiciled in Washington state. All officers and members are non-paid volunteers. EMG-WA is financially supported by gifts and grants from the community and the events we serve.
ORGANIZATION AND HISTORY
Emergency Management Group – Washington has its roots in the Seafair Emergency Management Group which is a group of volunteers who have provided emergency management support to Seafair’s signature events since 2011.
In addition, the core group provided emergency management support for the Seattle Seahawks Championship Parade in February 2014 and the Seattle Sounders Championship March in December 2016. It was selected to provide emergency management services to Downtown Seattle’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in 2015. It has become the “recommended” volunteer emergency management group for unexpected festivals in Seattle.
EMG-WA was selected by the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games to provide a full range of coordinated emergency management services to the Games in July 2018 throughout the Puget Sound area.
EMG-WA Board members have experience providing emergency management services as a part of FEMA/DHHS responses throughout the US and internationally, at major universities, and for community festivals of all sizes.
